Cyborg Kuro-chan (anime)

Cyborg Kuro-chan (サイボーグクロちゃん Saibōgu Kurochan) is a Japanese children anime adapted from Naoki Yokouchi's manga. The series was produced by Studio Bogey and broadcasted on TV Tokyo from October 2, 1999 to January 6, 2001 for 66 episodes. Followed with the manga, the anime was aired among several countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa. An English dub aired on Animax Asia, with the first 14 episodes of the dub released on VCD. Reviews for the series note the simplistic and cartoonish art style, and a thin storyline which is mainly centered on gags and comedic violence.

Media ReleaseEdit

In Japan, the anime was released on VHS by Media Factory and Public & Basic (PIBI). The first series was of tapes were episodes 1-26, while the 2nd series was released for rental only. Only the first 53 episodes were released after PIBI fell into bankruptcy. The series was later released in Japan on several video streaming services such as Amazon Video and U-NEXT. Other countries like Indonesia, China and Hong Kong got the episodes released on VCD.
